After 6 intensive padel, with a lot of matches but specially with many viewers, ends the first European Championships organized in Portugal.
In the Open Tournament the sisters Sanchez beat anothe double from Spain, Marquez - Amatriain by 4/6 7/6 7/5 becoming European Champions. In the mails event we had a surprise with the victory from the spanish Bergareche - Rivera over the world champion Pitu Losada and his partner Juanjo Gutierrez in tree sets 6/3 3/6 6/3.
In the Teams Event Spain got both titles, women and men. France got the second place also in women and men. The third place went to Portugal getting his best ever result in the men's event (were 5st in
2007) and keeping the same position (3rd) from the last Euroepan.
In women the 4th place went to UK and 5th to Switzerland. In the men's event the 4th place went to Switzerland, the 5th place to Italy, the 6th place to UK and the 7th place to Belgium.Text extracted from the original organisation, check for further information (in English) :
